The general form is in three parts:

1st part: the wind of spirit (introduction, splinters, deep bell calls, progressive distortion of time),
2nd part: awaken spirit (hands independence, multiple counterpoints),
3rd part: spirit strength (harmonic cannons, graviation).

With this piece for piano, I wanted to liberate myself from a potential latent weight that, during a certain period of my life, frequently came to haunt my sleeping hours. Very precise flashes, sonic images of a very high virtuosity were appearing in an obsessive manner. This is why I tried to translate them here in various shapes.

Beside this outlet, Arcane was composed following a principle generating a complete independence of both hands. Expressed in the second part, this idea allowed me to elaborate a writing with mutliple mobile counterpoins, giving the illusion of a real division in 2 parts of the piano. Similarly to optics, using magnifying glasses and distorting mirrors, we can see an “object” demultiplying and virtually changing shape, under various aspects.
